Egress, entry and sliding doors
A door is the easiest exit there is. We install basement egress doors, front entry doors and sliding patio doors, and help you pick the style that fits your home.

When a door beats a window
- You want a private entrance for an in-law suite or basement apartment
- Older family members or kids would struggle to climb out a window well
- You want an easy way to move furniture, bikes or equipment in and out
- The yard slopes and part of the wall is already near grade
What we do
- Replace an old, swollen or undersized basement door with an insulated exterior door
- Add a door into an existing areaway or outside stairwell
- Fit hardware that opens from inside without a key
- Build a complete new stairwell and door: see basement walkouts
A basement door with a thumb-turn deadbolt also counts as the second means of escape on the Baltimore County rental inspection sheet.
Captain's tip
Kids or grandparents downstairs?
A door is easier to get out of than any ladder, and easier for firefighters to get in.

Sliding doors
Add a patio entrance, or a full-size exit from a bedroom or basement. A sliding door is the heart of most walkouts.
